Scientists at Bristol Laboratories are constantly evaluating the feasibility of products designed to reduce the cost of manufacturing, while retaining the safety and efficacy of the product molecule. There is a constant endeavour to formulate newer generics and make them available to the health care providers.

Bristol Laboratories is gearing up to play an important role in the world generic market. It has a diverse product portfolio of 54 molecules offering over 167 presentations, with many more in the pipeline. Additional 20 molecules have been developed and are under various stages of dossier compilation and registration. This is expected to add another 60 presentations to the current product line over the next couple of years. 25 different products are in various stages of product development and are expected to be ready for dossier submission in the near future.

Bristol Laboratories is focused on developing more generics in the cardio-vascular range. Currently 14 molecules and 42 presentations are marketed in this therapeutic area, covering different classes of antihypertensive drugs, cholesterol reducing agents, anti-coagulants and other products for angina. A number of new products in this category are under regulatory submission as well as in various stages of development.
